Old Palace Medical Practice is a one
and a half doctor practice, which occupies premises in a converted
public house on Old Palace Road on the west side of central
Norwich. The building itself benefits from not being designed
originally as a health centre and has a warm homely feel to
it.
Upstairs, there is a well-equipped
library with a computer terminal connected to the NHS net,
a teaching and meeting room complete with teaching aids, an
office, a storeroom and a kitchen. Downstairs in the cellar
are the Lloyd George medical records.
Each consulting room, reception and
office is equipped with the In-Practice Vision medical computer
system and the practice considers itself to be nearly paperless
in its operation.
Teaching and learning are both part
of regular professional life at Old Palace Medical Practice.
At various times we have in the practice GP registrars, medical
students, work experience trainees and other visitors who
come to see how we work.
