Hospital Posts & Modules
 
 

Training in the hospital period will begin with the appointee entering one of the five modules as a Senior House Officer. The hospitals and departments within each module are as follows for each training period, but may vary due to unforseen cicumstances. During 'odd' years the module will start at 'a', during 'even' years at 'c'. Module 1 in even years will be 18 months in duration & not include Accident & Emergency.

a) Public Health/Ear, Nose & Throat (three months in each department)
b) Accident & Emergency
c) Medicine (Neurology/Dermatology & Rheumatology)
d) Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Module No 2 - (one post)

a) Paediatrics
b) Medicine (Neurology/Dermatology & Rheumatology)
c) Accident & Emergency
d) Psychiatry, Hellesdon Hospital

Module No 3(a) - (one post)

a) Obstetrics & Gynaecology
b) General Medicine/Respiratory Medicine
c) Psychiatry, Hellesdon Hospital
d) Paediatrics

Module No 3(b) - (one post)

a) General Medicine/Respiratory Medicine
b) Paediatrics
c) Psychiatry, Hellesdon Hospital
d) Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Module No 4 - (one post)

    Except where stated, all posts are based at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, apart from Public Health where the appointee is based at the Norwich Health Authority's offices, St. Andrew's Hospital (North Side), Norwich, six miles from the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
